Montbretia like plant for ID

Growing in our garden, the leaves look very similar to Montbretia, although it is slightly smaller, about 30-40cm high.

The roots are also different, a sort of tall thin bulb, and not stacked wide bulbs like Montbretia.

We've only been living here for just over a year, but have not seen it flower.

This is a bit of a guess, but your plant could be one of the hemerocallis (Daylily) varieties - of which there are many.

Thanks, had a look at some pics of those and the leaves look similar. I hope it is because the pics I looked at had some nice flowers.
