| | Yellow flower ID Hi all,
Please help me ID this lovely little flower found on the edge of a path in Rye Meads Nature Reserve today.
It's missing from my book , so any help appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I looked and it wasn't missing, just completely unrecognizable from the book's picture.

| | | Re: Yellow flower ID Yes, Common Toadflax.
I think a few people must have the same book as you, Hedge Witch, as it comes up for ID on this forum quite often! A lovely flower, one of my favourites. |

| | | Re: Yellow flower ID Hi (or should that be "high" ) Pete,
Yes, the inflorescence is often portrayed as a lot larger, without the leafy tip.
My original picture (before uploading to the WAB Gallery) is a little better, the colours more vivid with lovely detail on each flower. A beautiful thing to behold.
Thanks for the reassurance that more than one person gets confused.

Jim | They are both in the same family- Scrophulariaceae- so in fact from the same lineage, so not really convergent evolution. |
