| | | Autumn Berries. Just thought I'd show you these two hedgerow grab shots taken earlier today.
Didn't give much consideration to the actual picture taking, but now I've got them on the computer I can't help but marvel how mother nature comes up with so many simply beautiful things.
Regards
Mike. |

Ah...Elder and Hawthorn, two of my all time favs
The hedgerows seem to be smothered in berries this year, don't they? In Kent at the week end, it might have been blackberry county! (I was in Hadlow, near Tonbridge). Blackberries were literally dripping off the bushes. Actually, to call them bushes is somewhat of a mis-nomer, I have never seen blackberries growing so high. They were draping over everything, climbing up into the trees and drooping the branches back down with their weight. The pavements were covered with purply stains and squashed fruit! I had a wonderful time eating as I walked, those berries in the sun were hot to the taste, as though they had been warmed in the oven and those in the shade were chilled and refreshing...If I lived in that area I would be making the most of this bountiful harvest (and BWD too, no doubt...you know who you are - hic! ) Furthermore, to my delight, some of the time I was in the company of Commas who were also enjoying the rich pickings
