| | | 3 More flowers for identification please. I'd appreciate any help on identifying these 3 please.
Image 1
I'm pretty sure that this is Bloody Crane's-bill, but there is something about the plant that doesn't seem to be quite right - I keep thinking of Musk Mallow, but the leaves are definitely wrong for that. Roadside verge, Bolton Moor, 24th July this year.
Image 2
Haven't a clue on this - I suspect it might be a garden escape. 24th. July in a hedgerow near Longworth Clough (Bolton).
Image 3
Again, no idea. It looks to be past its best. Photo was taken 21st. July this year at Warton Crag.
Regards

2) not sure but could be a garden speedwell but red
the true wild spiked speedwell is blue
3) is common valerian but in seed stage. |

| | | Re: 3 More flowers for identification please. 1 Either French Cranesbill, Geranium endressii or it's hybrid G. x oxonianum, though like KT17 agree it does look more like the species to me
2 Not a speedwell at all, but Red Bistort, Persicaria amplexicaulis
3 Not Common, but white form of Red Valerian, Centranthus ruber
All are garden escapes though Red Valerian in its pink, red + white forms are all widely naturalised.
G. x oxonianum tends to be more common as naturalised alien than the 2 parents. |

| | | Re: 3 More flowers for identification please. Nice one folks.
Photo 1, I will settle for Cranesbill sp. (I don't feel confident enough to decide French or Druce's).
Photo 2 - Red Bistort it is.
Photo 3 - I didn't even know that Red Valerian had a white form so I'm chuffed to have found this.
Hopefully I might be able to find it again next year, but a little earlier when in full bloom.
Aeshna5,
(If you haven't already seen my reply to yours on my earlier post). Hope I have typed what I think I was typing this time.
Thanks & regards
