Where was the photo taken? | Trying to think in which part of the reserve (Messingham Sand Quarry) it was on and I think it must have the field were the heathers grow, the other fields had been mown. |

Tufted perennial 10-70cm high spreading by short rhizomes. | I thought it had the general appearance of an Agrostis but couldn't really have any confidence in taking it any further without other shots showing some of the other characteristics.
By the way Agrostis tenuis is now known as Agrostis capillaris - one of the many scientific names I've had to relearn along the way!

I suppose the next step will be "I can't confirm it until I done a DNA test on it".
