| | | Plant id please A guy I know has this growing in his greenhouse and said it just popped up out of nowhere and doesn't know what it is. It's roughly 4 feet tall with a fleshy reddish coloured main stem, not woody at all.
Thanks for any help on the id.

| | | Re: Plant id please Looks like Kangaroo Apple, Solanum laciniatum, to me which from the name you can guess is an Aussie, with an attractive nightshade (purple) flower which is grown as an ornamental + has turned up as a naturalised casual in the London area at least. We found 5 small plants at the London Wetland Centre a couple of weeks back growing under conifers, where I presume they have arrived from bird droppings- the mother plants presumably growing somewhere in a nearby garden. |
