| | | Wildflowers for ID and a tree These are some flowers I am trying to ID.
1.

3. There seem to be a lot of very similar flowers in my books and I suspect this photo may not give enough detail, but hoping someone can narrow down the possibilities.

5. This is a tree - the closest I can find seems to be Elm, but it doesn't seem quite right.  |

otherwise i agree with aeshna  | This was the plant i had to look most closely at, but Hoary generally has a more open infloresecence than Common + the longer inner bracts are dark-tipped in Common + greenish in Hoary. For both of these reasons I believe the photo to show Hoary. The leaves are different to, but not too obvious in this photo, though what I do see points towards Hoary for me. |
