| | | How do you like your blackberries? *to be sung to the tune of that song in the orange juice advert*
"How do your like your blackb'ries in the mornin'?"
"Ah like mine with a kick"
Sorry :P
Anyway, the blackberries are ripening in the hedgerows, and people are walking around with bright purple faces from the juice. So which blackberries do you find satisfying, and which do you spit out as soon as possible?
I love sour ones... I eat them bobble at a time. Sour with a little sweet is good too. Yet I cannot stand over-ripe, sweet watery ones... they are just disgusting! XP
So how about all you WAB-ers out there?

How's your pond doing queen bee?

Did you know that you can dry the flowers and use at your leisure?
That way you can make other types of wine as well!
Blackberry is very good and can be mixed with other dark fruits to make a lovely rich 'Port'! I call mine 'Hedgerow Port' and it's yummy!!!

| My younger cousions came round and we picked some blackberries to make into jelly-type stuff. Unfortunatley, without sugar, it started fermenting... XD Quote: |

Like Liefus, I like mine cooked, preferably sieved to get rid of those annoying pips and then made in to a crumble with apple.....and plenty of sugar and cream (or ice-cream). |

| | | Re: How do you like your blackberries? Blackberry liqueur or wine...or by the sounds of it hedgerow wine Also I'm another fan of blackberry and apple crumble (though my ex used to make a lovely pie ) but with homemade custard (to an old Hungarian recipe) rather than cream |

Naturegirl | Yes 8 gallons, we went a bit mad, hadn't thought of drying them, might do that next year. The port sounds yummy though, might try that next year as well.
