I have just driven down to Sandwich, Kent, and on my return journey to Coupar Angus was able to divert to see and photograph Violet Helleborine. Thanks Mike (Young Hunter) for publishing the main location. There was one plant still in glorious bloom. 
(The light was rather low so photo is not crisp). I agree that locations of the rarities should not be broadcast. However for commoner species, knowledge of a detailed location encourages interest, viewing and hopefully conservation without jeopardising the plant population.
How else would I get to see a violet helleborine ?

Incidentally, we found plenty of lesser twayblade in flower, 9th August this year just north east of Kirkmichael, but it was in the middle of moorland and I don't have a GPS reference. |
