| | | Help please with a couple of IDs Went on a very short walk last night and came across a few new ones, some of which, I'm hoping I've IDd correctly, some others I'm stumped on...
Apologies for the poor quality of some of these; the light level was very poor in places.
1. Fool's-water-cress
2. Great Willowherb
3. Hogweed?
4. Leaves of Hogweed?
5. Unsure (totally stumped on this)
6. Unsure 2
7. Leaves of unsure 2
Many thanks,
Ian G |

| | | Re: Help please with a couple of IDs I'm looking at Ground Elder and it just doesn't appear to have flowers sprouting from the middle of the stems whereas this specimen did. I've also been comparing the leaves and they definitely look more like the Ground Elder. I'm slightly confused now... need a lie down

well I don't know, you can't just magic this knowledge up even the experts are still learning and names don't always seem to relate to what you find and you may still be right!! - I recently found hemlock water dropwort growing in grassland 10-15 m from any water....
They don't read the fieldguides you know these wildflowers, they are very lacking in any kind of training |

| | | Re: Help please with a couple of IDs Yes Gill, and why is it that the majority want to be known as Common when they're obviously not?! I think I shall start telling people how common I am, they may then begin to realise just how special and unique I actually am
