2 plants from Durham Botanic Garden

These are images of 2 plants at Durham Botanic Garden. Can anyone assist with ID please?

1 Primula florindae
2 Can't see the leaves, but flower looks like a Persicaria, maybe P. affinis?

I certainly wouldn't have found these in Wild Flower Key. I've had a look on Google and note that the first is sometimes called Giant Cowslip and on, reflection, can understand why.
I can see the Persicaria likeness, fairly recently I found Pale Persicaria. I can't understand, studying all the images I made, why the leaves are not visible as type of plant appear to have stem leaves. In my ignorance I'd assumed the Primula florindae leaves were those of the Persicaria. Both were growing in the same bed.
