Surprised to see Water-crowfoot in flower tadat on Dartmoor | It looks like Round-leaved Crowfoot ( Ranunculus omiophyllus) which I believe often starts flowering very early in the year. |

| | | Re: Flower of the day My best find of today was Giant Butterbur. I had seen it's leaves previously and assumed it was Common Butterbur.
Also went to look for Purple Toothwort, was too early for flowers but the buds were showing colour - well almost |

but saying that everything is topsy turvy anyway. I'm going to photograph summer snowflake tomorrow when the spring snowflake isn't even in bud or even the Three cornered leek |

| | | Re: Flower of the day Whilst Leif was out gallivanting finding Bitterns and coltsfoot I went into my local park and rephotographed the aconites.
I just felt that I hadn't captured the yellow just right on the other photos.
I was shocked to find the spring snowflake in flower right next to it.
This is the summer snowflake that was in flower BEFORE the spring.
They are definitely summer snowflake as they are really tall and have the multiple flowers on each stalk
While I was there I photographed the Christmas Rose again.
What a day! |

Nice to see my favourite flower around again
Visited my childhood haunts to see if these were flowering - not disappointed!
Not so many as there used to be, however. |
