My flower of the day; well, yesterday actually, is Blue Sowthistle, Cicerbita macrophylla. How common is this plant? I came across it outside Gunnislake railway station in Cornwall where it was a flower bed weed. This is the first time I have seen it (most of my botanizing is done in Devon), and it was the first record for Cornwall.

I saw my first Borage of the year today, just outside Luton. I know it's common but I always think it's a strange and interesting flower.

Mine has to be the Lizard Orchid, which I didn't realise grew anywhere near where I lived, until a kind WABber told me. I'm not a flower buff, but this was worth the walk:
