(I bet Leif is jealous )
Creeping comfrey
Mike's Oxlip
And another primula nearby which is most likely the false oxlip because the leaves didn't abruptly end at the base. |

Mike. | Hard one: my guess False Oxlip. True Oxlip quite distinct geographical range. eg chalky boulder clay in East Anglia etc
False oxlip: V common hybrid wherever cowslip & primrose grow together. Basically habit is like a cowslip, flowers more like primrose: longer petals and more pale buttery colour, without the intensity of colour in cowslip. |

Best I can give you is: - From the B5256 Sheephill Lane car park, cross the stream by the stepping stones, keep the stream on your right until just before you get to the next set of stepping stones, and it's on your left near to a very boggy area.

| | | Re: Flower of the day I saw a nice patch of wood sorrel in Oxleas Wood last Saturday but I was already late leaving so just grabbed a quick shot as I ran past...
I might pay a return visit this weekend to try for some decent shots.

| | | Re: Flower of the day Nice shot Dave. Looks like the plants are more advanced in Kent than they are in Lancashire. I only saw maybe a hundred or so in flower today, well scattered though, not in a nice group.
