Flower of the day

ive been in begium for the last few days and it is amazing how far behind the flowers are. It is like england back in January!! Nothing at all!

I'm off for mezereon, coralroot, yellow star of bethelehem, spurge laurel, stinking hellebore (maybe) tomorrow and its a good forecast!!!!

What a day! Good weather and no traffic!
We first called off at Lancashire Lad's site for White butterbur

We then went up through Bowland and on towards Silverdale, we got Mezereon in that area as well as spurge laurel.

We then went to Arnside Knott to look and see if the green hellebores will be on the way up. Not many were and I jumped into the field and found one with an open flower.

We then went up to Sedgwick and got the yellow star of bethelehem as well as Alternate leaved golden saxifrage

I must have took about 50 photos of the star of bethelehem as it just never came out the way I wanted it to.
On the way back to the car we saw celandine and coltsfoot

You had some really good finds Keen Teen I have never seen Yellow Star of Bethlehem or White Butterbur only common and Creamy.

Yes it all sounds to have been a great day out. You've seen lots of plants that I want to see too! I have heard that the yellow star is a bit reluctant to flower regularly so that's a great find there.

quick hour out this afternoon with next doors dog - these were about-
white flowered lungwort

lesser celandine

and coltsfoot - do they make syrup anymore?

At last! Not having seen any wildflowers other than Dog's Mercury this year, there were finally just one or two odd little splashes of colour besides the numerous country paths I've wandered today.

Coltsfoot

Red Dead-nettle

Lesser Celandine

I'm sure you'll let me know if I've mis-identified anything!
