How's that for a bird-seed casual?...
Every time I've been to Weston the locals have looked as if they were stoned - perhaps this explains it |

| | | Re: Flower of the day We were out at Clough Head, near Haslingden, at the end of last month walking some of the woodland/moorland trails.
The following day, on national TV was the story that Police had removed more than 50 fully grown cannabis plants, all stated as being between 5ft. & 8ft. tall, from one of the ravines.
Apparently someone had planted these in growbags thinking it was never going to be found.
Just goes to show, you never know whats just around the corner.
Regards
Mike. |

| | | Re: Flower of the day This one was obviously self-sown, in a pretty odd location at the top of a beach on pure sand where the only other greenery was Sea Beet!
Stace says it's a reasonably common casual but I've never seen one growing wild before. |

| | | Re: Flower of the day Broad leaved helleborine!
OK so it wasn't in flower but it was in remarkable condition considering its October. Found 7 plants in all and importantly not too many miles from my house. Will be revisiting the same spot next July and August to see it in full bloom!
Flowers seen today:
Water mint
several members of the carrot family
Various sow thistles
Plus a few others I've now forgotten! Today was actually a fungi finding trip... |
