Slightly battered by all the wind & rain we've been having I think.
(I'm still logging it down as another tick on my list though).

| | | Re: Flower of the day I was able to add one more to the photo database, the first this October, today thanks to a magnificent stand of Glaucous Michaelmas-daisy ( Aster laevis) on the bank of a railway line in suburban Bristol. I'll post up a picture just as soon as I can figure out how to delete the backlog I seem to have built up whilst uploading to the Gallery
There's not a lot in flower around here now, although the local cotoneasters look magnificent in fruit, so I guess that's pretty much it for 2008. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to add one final species, the Goldilocks Asters ( A.linosyris) on cliffs at Uphill near Weston Super-mare, so that'd leave me on 791 plants photographed so far. |

Mike. | It would be right up there on mine! Thanks for pointing out Keenteens photo. As Keenteen will know, I give him high esteem for his ability with a camera. That is if he's noticed my comment on his hedgehog photo!

Well done! | I saw the white knapweed about 2 months ago in my local park. The photo just wasn't noticed in the Gallery. I'm glad you brought up the topic and gave me a use for it! |

Don't let it worry you moi.
As autumn draws towards winter back here in Britain, the availability of wild plants still in flower is declining by the day.
Rather than flower of the day, I think we might need to start another thread in the not too distant future with our favourite wild flower pic (or pics) of the year.
(It would be a good excuse to show off some more of our pics if nothing else. ).
What say you guys & gals? Anyone up for posting a "portfolio" of say half a dozen of your best wildflower photos of 2008?
Regards

I think it's a great idea to post a portfolio of favourite wildflowers of the year. People must have stacks. |

i.e. it might only be a dandelion, but if it's a brilliant photo of a dandelion then bring it on.
(On a new thread though - we don't want to divert flower of the day).
