Its not too far from the midlands. You have to look under a lot of heather, but I've been doing 1 sq m quadrats on random transects and have seen it probably a dozen times now in a total of maybe 130 quadrats. So a strike rate of nearly 10% - usually just the leaves though. |

I know Lake Vyrnwy quite well since I live fairly nearby in Wolverhampton (and my mom and her partner like the hotel!). I went there last year in search of Lesser Twayblade and found nothing, hence I had to drag mom all the way up to Roman Steps at Harlech (where we did find 3 but it was a monumental walk and search).
I'd be extremely interested in knowing where exactly you located them! Could I ask you to pm me some directions? I understand if you do not feel comfortable disclosing site details.
