| | | Re: Flower of the day Lovely finds Leifus. I haven't seen Dark Red Hells this year - I only know one Derbyshire site and they didn't appear, maybe the dry weather. Isn't it lovely up North . Pleased to have the Common Fiddleneck ID from your pics. - I saw that on Lindisfarne but didn't know what it was.
Carline Thistle for me too.
Regards,

Regards,
Lilyrose | it is lovely! the dark reds were well worth the wait. They're so beautiful!
the fiddleneck was nice too. There's a different species of fiddleneck which grows on Inner Farne which is its only locality in Europe.

I'll pop back in the next week to check on it. Quote:

| Yes, brilliant. Glad I was shooting digital and not film, the number of photos I took!
Tried to find the Wild liquorice as well while I was in the area, but no luck
Cheers,

i've never seen the wild liquorice, although I've never searched for it, but I've heard it's quite hard to find there

| | | Re: Flower of the day Out today for a casual walk and came across several Broad Leaved Helleborines in an unexpected location which made them an even nicer find. Also lots of Betony.
Leifus - was half asleep yesterday morning looking at your photos; I think it was the sea milkwort I saw on Lindisfarne, not Fiddleneck, which I probably wouldn't have noticed and I've never heard of before - more good finds for you . |
