| | | Common Hemp-nettle?
I think this is Common Hemp-nettle. I'd be grateful if someone could confirm or otherwise, thanks.

This is a close-up of one of the pics. One of my books says Bifid Hemp-nettle has a well-notched lower lip - the one here seems to me to only have a very slight notch, but then I've not seen (or at least not identified) Common Hemp-nettle, so I don't know what the notch is like for that. What do you think Tiggrx? (Or anyone) |

| | | Re: Common Hemp-nettle? Maybe a hybrid between Common + Bifid Hemp-nettle? The two spp do hybridise; it does appear rather intermediate in characters. |

As it's not exactly clear what this might be, I'll leave it as unidentified. I may well pass the site again in the near future, in which case I'll try to take some clearer photos (it was windy and grey when I took these pics) - there was certainly a lot of it about there.
At least I've learnt a little about Hemp-nettles! Thanks again for all the replies. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
