unfortunately when we went there at the beginning of July there was only one flower left so I think theyve gone over.
Not sure about Autumn Gentian - will get back to you. |

| | | Re: autumn gentian and birds eye primrose sites... Searching along the edges of any of the limestone streams in the Ingleborough area is likely to produce Birds-eye Primrose, but I agree it is almost certainly too late to see it in flower now.
Sadly, my favourite site back in my student days, a wonderful area of wet limestone pavement with huge populations of Birds-eye Primrose and Globeflower, is just a grass pasture now. The Wildlife and Countryside Act and provision for Limetone Pavement Orders came too late.
I imagine that the same area is likely to have Autumn Gentian (i.e. Gentianella amarella) if you search places where there is just a thin turf over the limestone, often on banks.
