| | | 3 plant IDs from arable plot I was out yesterday having a look at a field presently under rape but with one corner that has only low growing vegetation, except at edges and which is not seperated from the rape. Apart from margins ther didn't appear to be any thistles, nettles, dock or anything that would grow to significant height.
The type of vegetation is indicated, to some degree. in the first and third pictures. The other was nearer the edge. Can anyone assist with IDs of the main plants featured and comment on the possible nature of the location? |

| | | Re: 3 plant IDs from arable plot 1 Buckwheat, Fagopyrum esculentum
2 possible Charlock, Sinapis arvensis
3 possible White mustard, S. alba
Would like to see more mature specimens of these 2 crucifers to be certain. |

The link below indicates the area on Google Map (I hope). Its the triangular browner area with one side being the southern edge of the light coloured field and a track runs across it, the track was not evident yesterday. The area is perfectly level and dry and I can't understand why the plot is not incorporated into the field or why it has not attracted the usual vegetation evident on the surrounding, non-cultivated margins.
I will make further visits and get more useful images. Google Maps | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
