Unidentified rush

And an unfamiliar rush growing in very wet ground at the edge of a fresh water reservoir........







Any clues? My first thought was Slender Rush, J.tenuis, but the location seemed much too wet ......

Have to say Slender Rush was my reaction too!

I'd go with Juncus tenuis as well.

It was where it was growing that made me doubt my first ID - the ground there is under a few inches of water 70 - 80% of the time..........

it certainly looks like slender rush but i agree you dont normally find it in the water
