| | | Northern Yellowcress? Yesterday I went to Brockholes where a plant called northern yellowcress was found in a dried up pond three years ago. This year the pond was full of water.
We looked around and found this. :
Is this it?
We also found another plant near it. |

| | | Re: Northern Yellowcress? I have never seen the plant if you are talking about Rorippa islandica, but if so your plant looks too hairy for that. Also did it look like an annual because I think that species is the only annual member of the genus.
Sorry I can't help any more
All the best

| | | Re: Northern Yellowcress? It turns out the one at the site mentioned was not the plant it was thought to be. A large patch of the supposed Northern Yellowcress came up during a heatwave in 2006 and the pond dried up and the plants were reported to be everywhere. Now the photos have been confirmed as abberrations of Marsh Yellow Cress.
Even though this was a downer. I was told about another site about it only a few minutes walk from my work.
And here we are : Northern Yellow Cress
Not much to brag about eh?
I'll be keeping an eye on it until the fruit develops. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
