ID and critique please

Took this while in the New Forest in June very early morning. This was in a boggy area - I unfortunately have no idea what this is. I quite like the picture though, maybe a little more Depth of Field would have helped but too late now



Can anyone help please?

The four hairy leaves arranged in a cross would seem to suggest Cross-leaved Heath - Erica tetralix.

Have you ever thought of trying to take it against the light to highlight the hairiness?



This one is quite extreme and I don't entirely like it but it shows the potential. I'd also suggest getting down lower and taking from the side rather than from above.
