| | | Seeking Raspberry Why is european raspberry (Rubus idaeus) so freekin hard to find growing in the wild?? The only bramble i ever come across are blackberry bushes and to be honest its everywere. |

| | | Re: Seeking Raspberry There are so many different spp of bramble that I personally cant be bothered to try to identify them from each other. It does mean that I probably miss id-ing raspberry plus other interesting plants! I read somewhere that there are 2000 spp. of bramble in the UK! |

Raspberry is common right along the North Downs from Hants to Kent.

I know that up in Perthshire around Blairgowrie there are numerous soft fruit farms.

| | | Re: Seeking Raspberry According to Oliver Rackham he mentions Chalkney wood Essex where rasberries are most prolific in coppiced areas. I think they do like the sun but are still traditionally a woodland understorey plant so can cope with an element of shade I think. |
