2 plant IDs - close to home

These are pics of two plants growing close to home which I pass most days with the dog. Can you help with ID?

(1) & (2) is a low growing plant amongst the grass and I have seen it elsewhere in the area. The floweres are about 3/4 mm wide.

(3) & (4) shows a plant which has appeared every year and I assume it's a garden escape. It's 1 m + tall and has leaves only towards the bottom of the stem.

Hi

the first two could be Hedge Bedstraw

the second two look like a type of Sow Thistle

Thanks Neil and Lance. The Bedstraw is one of those plants that you see around and, perhaps, ignore as insignificant as I did. I made a point of going out yesterday to have a closer look and as usual it was worthwhile.
The second plant is, I still think, a garden escape and hope someone will come along and provide an ID.

3 + 4 - Chicory? Not sure, but similar flowers.

Hi

I still think the last two are Blue Sow Thistle - Cicerbita macrophylla , an escape.

Love Hedge Bedstraw 1&2 (equally as nice as ladies Bedstraw), 3&4 Sow thistle in my judgement

So do I. I've seen quite a bit of it on roadsides in the North Pennines and Peak District.

Re: 2 plant IDs - close to home

Thanks everyone. I couldn't link Sow Thistle and escape. I didn't realise that there was a cultivated Blue Sow Thistle. As I mentioned it has flowered in the same spot for years and has held its own amongst encroaching brambles and willow herb.
