| | | Frog orchids Just wondering if anyone has seen any in flower yet this year? Its on my hit list or plants to find. So if you know of a good spot in and around Oxfordshire I'd appreciate hearing about it! |

| | | Re: Frog orchids Hi Ian,
Being my useful self, the nearest spot to you I know is Noar Hill (a long way away) where they are coming out now.
All the best

| | | Re: Frog orchids Thanks to you both for responding and thanks for letting me know about Noar Hill. Yes its rather too far for an evenings plant hunt! At least it confirms that they should be coming out about now. I am thinking of going to one of the known sites in the Chilterns and trying my luck there....

| | | Re: Frog orchids You may need to hurry - this
was taken a Barnack on 16 June. Don't know how long the flowers last (especially in the mixed weather we have had recently).

| | | Re: Frog orchids Thanks for posting the image. Nice shot. I didnt expect them to be flowering back in June, I thought they were a July flower!
Had a wander around 2 sites last night looking for this plant and failed. I did find autumn gentian just coming into flower at one site though! Very surprised about that! Maybe the weather is conspiring against my frog hunt again! Been looking for it for the last couple of years. I suspect its been peaking through the grasses laughing at me as I stride just yards from it! |

| | | Re: Frog orchids I think it flowers from June-August according to Collins. I think I'll check out this Noar hill place - sounds promising... |
