Another flower for ID please

I think I've seen this before (and may even have posted it here before) but I can't remember what it it is.

Thanks,

Pete

Re: Another flower for ID please

Thanks Gill and Deer Stalker for your prompt replies!

I was wrong, I don't think I have seen it before, although the books tell me it's common. There was certainly a lot of it about along the bridleway where I found it.

Thanks again.

Pete

Don't worry Jez & Tufftie.

Its not a true Nightshade, its part of the Willowherb familiy Onagracaea.

Thanks again Deer Stalker, I didn't know that - I did wonder.

I did see plenty of Woody Nightshade today - or was it Bittersweet? It certainly seems to be very common in these parts.

Re: Another flower for ID please

You've helped me out with this one too, Pete. I photographed it locally last Tuesday and was going to post it for an ID but now I don't have to!

Re: Another flower for ID please

You're welcome, Dave!

Exactly the same thing has happened to me once or twice - just the other day leifus had a photo identified as Vervain, which matched a photo I was going to post up for ID.

Re: Another flower for ID please

I've just seen a lot more Enchanter's Nightshade in a neighbouring village. I wouldn't have known what it was this time last week! Isn't WAB wonderful!
