2 more for ID please

I recently got an ID for Common Water Plantain which wasn't flowering at the time so I have been back to get images of development. Close by , in the same boggy area, I noticed this plant which seems to have developed something like a flower. What might it be?



While out with the dog today checking on the local Nettle leaved Bellflower (still no flowers yet) I found this on the margin of a rape field. It has the look, to my inexperienced eye, of an elongated clover - its not of course! It could also be of the pea family. Whatever I can't ID it. Can anyone assist

The first could be Branched Bur Reed and the second is Common Fumitory.

I have found a miniture Bur Reed I think which I need to post for ID

Thanks mrs fish for rapid response. My possible Burr Reed was about 30 cms. I don't know if that makes it "small".

My book says 30cm - 152cm and yours does look like Branched Bur Reed

I agree with both. Branched bur reed and common fumitory. Good finds

I've just had a look at "Flowers of N W Europe" site and I reckon you're spot on with Branched Burr-reed. Thanks.

I have just taken a look at piccys and I also will suggest Branched Bur Reed, not sure if the fumitory is common though, as it usually has some black markings on it from my witnessing of the plant !?!

Thanks for interest. Fumitory is a new family to me. "Wild Flower Key" list a few types with only minor differences via sepals and fruits. I've posted a closer view hoping it might assist.

In which case on closer inspection, I will agree with leifus-common Fumitory!
