Common cotton grass aka fairy flax

Saw some of this yesterday and thought I'd share it with you

looks lovely in the evening sunlight

Common cotton grass - Eriophorum angustifolium

My father used to tell me the fairies use it to make their clothes!

Theres sense to having latin names - I know Fairy Flax as Linum catharticum!

Thanks for letting us see your nice photo - another "common name" I've come across is Bog Baby Warning - think it applied to all cotton grasses rather than just the Common Cottongrass.

We've got huge amounts of the Hare's-tail Cottongrass in flower across whole swathes of the fells here in the Dales - I've never seen a display quite like it.
