Mike. | Absolutely Mike - I rushed, (as usual) and just quickly looked at the top picture and jumped in. Lesson learnt, I hope. 
The second view is clearer and I agree its a type of mimulus and I think Nakedgardener is right - the best I can do is that it looks to be based on Mimulus lewisii.
