| | | Small white flower for ID please
I've a feeling I should know what this is - but I don't! Apologies for the poor picture quality.
The flower was very tiny, and was in a wood in the Chiltern Hills. |

Interestingly, it's called Heath Speedwell in all three of my wildflower books. I did think it might be that, but the 'Heath' bit put me off. The books do say it grows in open woods, and as it was by a wide path I guess that's a suitable habitat.
It's the first time I've seen it, I think. Recently I've been seeing an awful lot of Germander Speedwell, some Wood Speedwell, but not much Common Field Speedwell, which is surprising as I usually see it often. |

| | | Re: Small white flower for ID please I've always known it as Heath Speedwell too, and round me it usually has very blue flowers, I hardly ever see it in white! |

neil | Please, I am trying to find examples of as many Speedwells as I can, don't confuse me. I have 4 in the garden, and they keep changing places. I am either getting obsessed or they are taking the Mick. Some I can't get the camera to focus on, one has taken to wearing a straw hat. There are something like 20 of the little blue chucklers.
Seriously, I do love them but they are difficult to line up. I think I am up to about 6 different ones that I can easily locate. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
