| | | Blue flower ID and comment re Red Campion On my recent visit to Rainton Meadows this was growing on an are created from large limestone blocks. What is it please?
This was also found near one of the lakes. It's Red Campion, but is it usual for the sepals and upper stem and leaves to be so obviously red? There's Campion everywhere at the moment but I don't recall this colouration. |

| | | Re: Blue flower ID and comment re Red Campion The first is Jacobs Ladder (Polemium caeruleum)
The second is Red Campion. They can readily cross pollinate with White Campions which give these different permutations in the stems and leaves.

| | | Re: Blue flower ID and comment re Red Campion Thanks for information.
This is White Campion which was growing fairly close to the Reds. First time I'd noticed it this year. White, at present, is much less common than red around here. . | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
