| | | 3 For ID please 2 white and 1 pink The images below show 3 plants for which I would appreciate assistance in making ID.
Nos. 1 & 2 look like some sort of Stitchwort. The flowers were 1 - 2 cm across and the petals are very deeply divided.
No. 3 is another stichwort-like plant but isn't the Greater Stitchwort which is everywhere at the present time.
(Nos. 1 - 3 were found near the Wear close to Durham City)
Nos 4 & 5 show a small low growing pink flowered plant. Looks like a Mallow to me. It was noted on a mown area in Hetton Lyons Country Park

| | | Re: 3 For ID please 2 white and 1 pink Hi again....
1 and 2 look like Lesser Stitchwort, Stellaria graminea (but not 100% sure, doesn't look quite right)
3. Common Mouse-ear, Cerastium fontanum
4 and 5 Doves-foot Cranesbill, Geranium molle |

| | | Re: 3 For ID please 2 white and 1 pink 1 and 2 the leaves look wrong for lesser stitchwort. That's not to say I know what it is... just what I think it isn't.

| | | Re: 3 For ID please 2 white and 1 pink Thanks a lot for responses, they're a great help as usual. I looked closely at image 1 and whilst the focus is not perfect I think I can detect a whitish margin on the bracts which is stated as a feature for Lesser Stitchwort in 'Wild Flower Key'. |

I'm a bit surprised you haven't seen it because, if nothing else, it begs the question - how did you know what it was?
I try, and usually fail, to get IDs from 'Wild Flower Key'. I'd asumed that you and the knowledgable colleagues on the site used personal observation and direct experience in order to deliver your excellent advice.
And on a completely different matter why do the each of my 3 posts appear to be my 403rd?
