| | | White flower in wrong place? http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/pi...26May08001.jpg
Any help on this, I have some ideas as to what it looks like, found in roadside verge. The soil is overlying limestone and very sandy, the grass on the verge is so thick that even 5 min on hands and knees, I can't find leaves that I can say belong to this. The stem is just... stemmy, then it branches to about 3 flowers like this. North East Yorkshire. |

| | | Re: White flower in wrong place? I think im going with that...the petals are all of an even length which is the only difference from the one i have photographed before which has 3 long and 3 short...so it may well be something else but everything looks right otherwise.

If I was in a pine wood, in Scotland, and it was wet, Ch.... I can't say it.
It is a grass verge I know well, and monitor for plants of interest. Never seen it before. |

Barbara | I think more likely Ornithogalum angustifolium but we really need a chromosome count to be certain which of the two it is! How large were the petal-like things (in millimetres please)?
The nearest site to me (that I know of) is on a roadside.

henrya | I have a problem with measuring the plant, as Willie The Groundsman has given it terminal Sheffield Blight. Most unfortunate. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
