Old hay meadow walk

I had the opportunity to go for a walk in a conservation area that includes an old hay meadow. The hay is not cut until July giving a chance for a lot of plants to set seed. I was perhaps a little early for the bulk of the flowers ( excuse for a return in a few weeks ) but I was in time for the Twayblades. I managed to see around 10 which is quite a lot for over here!



There was also a lot of yellow rattle but its not flowering yet but I did see some lousewort



I went a little further and found quite a lot of Royal fern. It seems to be spreading as I think I saw more than a couple of years ago.



I will try to go back when there are more orchids in flower as it is quite a sight.
