Given up on this one - white flower for ID

Hi all,

I have been puzzling on this for a while and I cannot get anywhere with it. The plant was flowering in woodland in Late April/early May.

That's what I thought. There is purple honesty elsewhere on the wood. I have never seen any that it white though.

Yes it is Honesty - the white form is less often seen than the purple

Hi Jon,
Just came accross this. Its not Honesty but Garlick Mustard of Jack by the hedge (Alliaria petiolata). It is very common on roadside hedges and is in flower during May.

You will probably never get to read this as I have just noticed the date you posted your query!!!

Tee hee. Dontcha love it when someone says, "It is this", and someone
comes along and says (equally categorically), "It is that".

From the leaves, I'd say Alliaria petiolata is more likely.

Well here's the first vote for Honesty. Here are my reasons:

1. Upper leaves are unstalked
2. Lower leaves have pointed not rounded ends
3. You can just see fruits forming, which are honesty-like
4. Flower size seems too big for Garlic Mustard

I've been wrong before, so open to correction!
