I had a good walk around the Houghall area just outside of Durham today. I noticed these next to a roadway and wondered what they might be, I suspect they may be a garden escape. I did, however notice a few more a considerable distance away next to the River Wear and far from any garden.
Can anyone assist with ID please?  |

It is a Leopard's-bane (Doronicum sp.) - several species occur as garden escapes. I think your's is D. pardalianches. |

I have plenty of leaf which looks like this in my spinney so I'm hoping the answer is Leopards Bane
(Doronicum pardalianches)?!
