| | | Spring flowers I went for a short walk and thought how pretty the flowers are at the moment. So I thought I'd share a few with you.
European Gorse having its main flush of flowers
one of my favorites Spring Squill
Bluebells are blooming well at the moment
I always knew this as the fairy flower and as a child I was never allowed to pick it for fear of upsetting "the lil' folk".
Germander speedwell is a pretty little flower especially when you get a lot together.

| | | Re: Spring flowers Some nice shots there, Barbara, and some nice flowers!
I've seen a few gorse bushes on my walks this week - they're looking very colourful but I'm not sure if they're at their peak here. Lots of Bluebells in the woods of the Chiltern Hills, and they definitely are at their best now, some of the woods are truly carpeted with them.
The flowers I've seen most commonly round here this Spring include Greater Stitchwort, Lesser Celandine, Dog's Mercury, Primrose, Wood Anemone, Garlic Mustard and Yellow Archangel. This week I've seen my favourite wildflower, Herb Robert, for the first time this year. New flowers that I've seen for the first time this Spring include Wood Sorrel, Cuckoo Flower and Wood Speedwell (I think, just having it checked here on WAB!). |

| | | Re: Spring flowers Nice pictures Barbara Is that pink one a campion?
The gorse here is starting to "go over" but today I saw some SilverWeed in full flower, I took a picture but havn't uploaded it to my PC yet. I normally associate it with the Summer - | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
