Could this be Cows Parsley???

Now this plant is reminds me a litle of cows parsley the ony problem though is there was a dozen or so of them and the tallest was about 80cm which is far to short for cows parsley.

Have you got the camera set to auto? as the camera seems to be focusing on the background.
In the close up image 2nd pic.
Do you use a tripod?

It is Cow Parsley, Anthriscus sylvestris. Though it can easily exceed 80cm, plants can be very variable with regards height.

Nahh i was using a Cam phone which didn't have zoom on it - also it was windy and the plants were swaying.

You see i was under the impression Cow's parsley was 100 - 150cm in hight and this was maxing well below that causing doubt.

Its worth remembering that height/spread and flowering times given in reference books etc are only guidelines. Plants will also grow differently in different conditions - better, richer ground = bigger plants, very nutrient-poor ground = stunted plants......

Ahh well these were growing in a sunny spot next to the motorway - no idea about the quality of the soil but as there were no stingy nettles i presume the soil wasn't very nutritious.

Its hight and appearence - cows parsley is edible and generaly alot bigger, fools parsley is shorter and toxic. Actualy i just looked at the pictures again and yeah im wrong it is very red, too red not to be cows parsley.
