I've noticed in my wildflower guide that both Red and White Campion are in there and have seen varying degrees of 'redness' and 'whiteness' almost to the point where I would say that a Red or a White Campion is distinctly 'Pink'.
Is there such thing as a Pink Campion?
Just a Campion thought...

Not a Pink Campion from what I can find, but Red and the White do hybridise resulting in paler forms.

Red Campion does sometimes have pink (or white) flowers. The hybrid has pale pink flowers (according to the book).
Why can't botany be simple!

| Not just botany Henrya but almost anything to do with wildlife. Insects are bugging me at the moment (excuse the pun) and I don't find fungi at all easy. Thank goodness for FungiJohn with those.

I suppose a lot of us may be out of work if it was easy!! Although I have a TON of stuff left to learn at least I don't have to worry about some graduate being trained up in three weeks to replace me!! When I asked Fourwings earlier about books for the ID or cricket and grasshoper nymphs and how did he manage his id so well and the pure and simle answer is experiance - and I guess there's no quick route to gaining that!!! | | |
