| | | Unidentified Plant Hey guys, one for the Unidentified section for now Wondered if you could assist me.
It was growing pathside with some Grapevine Hyacinth if such a thing exists. As you can see in the description I've added, it almost looked like it had been dusted with a very fine purple powder. It was a beautiful plant though!!!
All help, comments and suggestions much appreciated!

I think you will have to go back when it flowers.

Wait for the flowers to come Nick, it's a cracking flower. The name Aquilegia, comes from 'aquila' which means eagle, on account of the flower shape. It's common name, Columbine comes from Columba (dove), again on account of the flower shape. Which looks nowt like a dove or eagle to me.

| | | Re: Unidentified Plant Hi Nick - if that thick, dry flowerstalk to the left of your picture goes with the leaves I'm backing Bub-les on the Thalictrum suggestion.
And the veining on the leaves doesn't look right for aquilegia... |
