| | | Unidentified Flower - ID Please Hi
Spotted this in my garden today, and I've no idea what it is - it stood no more than 6 inches high. Can't tell you any more than that - the rest you can see from the photo
Sorry if this has been covered umpteen times already!
Thanks

| | | Re: Unidentified Flower - ID Please Many thanks for that - I saw the other thread showing a very similar flower before I started this one, but couldn't be sure it was the same one!
Sorry all for duplicating the subject !

| | | Re: Unidentified Flower - ID Please I wouldn't rule out this plant being Hairy Bittercress (Cardamine hirsuta).
Wavy bittercress is typically a plant of damp places, in my experience much more frequent in the countryside than in gardens, whereas Hairy Bittercress is a common garden weed which is where this plant was growing.
The key difference is the number of stamens, Wavy has 6, Hairy has 4. although it's difficult to tell definitively from the picture, I'm have difficulty counting to more than 4.

| | | Re: Unidentified Flower - ID Please While I do agree with you - this plant does look more like Cardamine flexuosa to me. I have found that this species has increased as weed of gardens and waste ground over the last ten years or so and seems to be less reliant on damp ground. It is certainly as common as C. hirsuta in my garden. Quote:
