If you want a native evergreen then you have the choice of juniper and holly. Almost native is the dwarf pine, Pinus mugo - I assume you're looking for something fairly small? |

I agree Paul- I don't understand the coastal reference either! Certainly a plant of damp places such as fens,etc, though not restricted to these. |

| | | Re: Is guelder rose evergreen? How about a Strawberry Tree, Arbutus unedo- attractive with flowers + fruits at the same time, which Blackbirds adore. It's evergreen + is a native of SW Ireland + Mediterranean, fully hardy + frequently found in parks + gardens. It has the potential to grow higher , but can be maintained at the desired height. |
