| | | Re: Spring Flowers Yesterday and today I went for walks in the Oxfordshire part of the Chiltern Hills. Lots more Bluebells out now, and lots of Wood Anemones, Primroses, Lesser Celandine and Violets. Greater Stitchwort is now coming out too. I saw a Cowslip somewhere on my walk today - I saw my first one of the year yesterday, though, as I drove through Aston Clinton (between Tring and Aylesbury) on the way to my walk. |

| | | Re: Spring Flowers Greater stitchwort is a charmer nice spot Pete! Tufftie & i saw it in flower last weekend. We also saw red campions in flower but the plant itself looked very small in height for Campions which had me quizzing if it there were Red Campion we also spotted a fantastic mass of sweet violets mixed with lots of primroses-truly gorgeous sight. Lots of Navel Wort in leaf at Kinver Caves and yesterday along with cuckoo flower we spotted our first vetch of the year I know this patch well so It won't be long until the Yellow Arch Angels come through
We did take photos but i'm having probs with uploading them onto PC!?!

| | | Re: Spring Flowers I've seen Yellow Archangel several times in the last week, but it's always been the garden escapee version with silver variegated leaves (Tiggrx identified it for me on another thread the other day). I'm still looking out for the true wild version. |
