Unknown plant for ID

Hello,

This was found growing by Newent Lake in Gloucestershire, England on 14/02/08. When it first caught my eye I thought it was razor wire, but no. Anyone know what it is? I didn't see any ornamental plants growing in the area although aparently it was an ornamental lake at the begining of the last century.

After a few hours on the internet I've been able to identify it. It's Winged Spindle (Euonymus alatus), native to eastern asia but grown as an ornamental plant in the UK. It's also an invasive species in the eastern united states.
