Saw first wild primrose yesterday 28-01-08 as opposed to those in the garden which are always earlier, probably because they have more protection.  |

First crocus in the garden today. Snowdrops have been out here for about three weeks now. |

On my walk today I saw my first wildflowers of the year - a violet near Little Chalfont, and a couple of Lesser Celandine near Chenies (also in Buckinghamshire). |

Although not spring flowers as such but I saw Blackthorn in full flower today, this seems really early to me. Acacia also in full flower, very beautiful. |

It was Blackthorn, 4-5 trees on the roadside.
I know they normally flower early April, so really early, although we do live in Cornwall. I will look out for some more now I have noted where those were. |

Blackthorn does blossom from the end of Feb, it is out around here and is a beautiful sight |

Caught my first glimpse of Lesser Celladine in the hedge hows yesterday. The Snow Drops are now out in full bloom and Daffs are starting to glow! Got my first lungwort in flower and Bees are starting to feed from the Hellebores  !
