| | | Unidentified Flowers from Colin Glen I took these photographs in Oct 2006 at Colin Glen, Belfast. I hope someone can help with IDs.
Thanks, John. |

| | Re: Unidentified Flowers from Colin Glen 1 + 2 are Japanese Rose, Rosa rugosa, frequently planted + sometimes naturalised (I've seen them naturalised on dunes). Greenfinches in particular are partial to the hips of this species which can make an attractive informal hedge with white or pink flowers as well as stunning hips.
3 Himalayan Honeysuckle, Leyscesteria formosa, again frequently naturalised from parks/gardens as birds feed on fruits + deposit the seeds around.
Thanks for all your stunning photos this year that keep naturalists of all persuasions busy with their ID skills!

| | | Re: Unidentified Flowers from Colin Glen I been using these dark months to look over pics that I have taken in the last few years but never got round to editing or posting them on WAB. Thanks once again Aeshna for all your help.
