| | | ...... in the eye of the beholder. I'm updating some of the flower names - latin too - for the Wildflower Gallery of Wild About Britain, hopefully correctly. What particularly strikes me as I look at the photos, is just how stunning the majority are particularly when snapped close up. They bear comparison with more exotic species, but no doubt many folk pass them by as I have done in the past, without really noticing their beauty. |

| | | Re: ...... in the eye of the beholder. You are absolutely right. Since I bought a digital camera last year I have been snapping any wildflower I have seen close up on supermacro and it's amazing how we take them for granted - even those of us who already appreciated them! My favourites so far are a teasel, ribwort plantain in flower and a tamarisk. They are either stunningly beautiful or I managed to get just the right shots! |

| | | Re: ...... in the eye of the beholder. I agree. I've just joined the forum because I've recently started taking pics for identification and its marvelous to study/view the macro shots which show the beauty and detail that's not always apparent from on site observation. |

| | | Re: ...... in the eye of the beholder. The only thing is that you accumulate photos which you are reluctant to throw away. This is particularly true if you make a special trip to the Cairngorms for Veronica alpina (hoping to do that this year) or to the North coast of scotland for Primula scotica.
So I've just fitted 1 Tb of hard disk storage to my computer... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
